Maybe Inui and Kotarou are two different people and Inui is only Kotarou's brother or something.
You'd think if Kotarou had a crush on Sakura and had spent years trying to find a way to revive her, he'd react differently than he did. One issue I did have with Kotarou being Sakura's friend was Kotarou's seemingly lack of preference for Sakura over the other girls. All it proves is that he isn't super old. I was hoping for the metalheads being Sakura's childhood friends. I was very surprised that this childhood theory turned out to be true. So he keeps her at a distance and puts on an act so she doesn't connect the dots and remember him.
It might be he believes they can't be together, feels guilty for digging up her grave, perhaps knows that Sakura might react herself by being creeped out, or any combination of the above. That could be why he acts as he does, in a way more complex than a typical tsundere. Though yah, it is kinda weird, so I think he really did love her and then (as I said before) went kinda over the edge when she died. So anyway you slice it, there will be more mysteries and a complex background (or at least interesting one) of sorts to him and possible the old man in a second season. Cause if he is that young, then someone else got the bodies of at least Junko, Saki, and obviously (if they did cremations then too) Yugiri in time and then preserved them, not him. Of course, given the cremation thing in Japan for customs-sake (even lampshades in an earlier episode), it's possible there is likely more to this we'll learn in a second season.
